Tucson Tango Festival 5 Star Recipe for Success!!

TucsonTango Festival was simmering on the back burner for a few months butnow as we move it up to the front burner we are noticing our tangokitchen is filling with the rich aroma of a five star festival.

Wehave visitors coming from as far away as Ireland and Singapore thisyear! Yep!! Thanks to videos we post on YouTube and the comments ofthose that watch them, we have a new friend and milongueros coming allthe way from Europe and Asia this year.

Sofar the registration is running neck and neck with last year, AND weare noticing new names appearing all the time -- tango lovers wehaven't met yet are signing up to come join the fun.

Thelevel of dance promises to be even higher this year. We again invitedseasoned dance pros to come as our guests and more are joining thegroup since our reputation for being and elegant and fun festival isspreading. Expect a high level of dancing at the milongas.

Youneedn't worry we have asked Frank to put extra flooring on his trucksas the registration grows so will the pista de la milonga!!

Momo Smitt iscoming back this year with new material that is nothing short ofgenius! If you know Momo you know he will be dancing with as many ofour women guests as he can hold :) AND Ladies his dancing is off thecharts!! He has done almost a festival every week since last he gracedour pista de la milonga!!
Thelife, love and joy that Momo brings to a festival has become famous!!So it is our pleasure to shine a light on his brilliance and talentagain this year.

Tucson Tango Festival a Collaboration of Love and Friendship

Idon't say enough that the Tucson Tango Festival is not Rusty's doing. It is a collaboration of so much talent it really is amazing... so... Iam dedicating the rest of this post to thanking the key chefs,sous-chefs, cooks, prep-cooks and all around genius tasters andvolunteers that make the recipe for this festival such a smashingsuccess. Every year friends, participants and professionals comeforward with ideas that help make our festival ROCK. It is happeningagain this year, so I have to say thank you for all the help:

Murat Erdemsel aninspiration since day one. He was the first to get on board in 09 andhe is the first to make suggestions and help keep me on track. He isalways there as is our precious Michelle. They are there with input, requests, suggestions and ingredients for a stunning recipe.
Thisyear Murat is bringing back a new and revised musicality presentationthat will blow your mind. We have moved it to a new time slot so morecan come and learn in a new and brilliant way from this masterinstructor.

Varo Boyajyan hasbeen there since the start. Varo and I have a magical simpatico! He gota nice send off on the tango circuit at the Tucson Tango Festival andas he has become more and more popular he continues to praise ourfestival everywhere he goes. Thanks to his Los Angeles contingent wewill have many fabulous young dancers coming in from LA to grace ourmilongas with their love of this wonderful dance. Watch out for Varo heis becoming amazingly popular as a festival teacher - does this mean weloose him as a DJ? He assures me not!

Our local volunteers whichare too many to mention are always here plugging and helping to makeour ambassador and taxi dancer programs a smashing success. Tucsonansloving having you here and they happily get in line to meet, greet, offer rides and make new friends.

Paul Akmajian and Sabah Chammas -Since day one they were here with their winning smiles and famousabrazos warming the hearts and putting smiles on the faces of all ofour welcomed guests. They eagerly joined us again this year and happilyhelp in spreading the word and raising the level of dance by blendingin at the milongas as the true milongueros they really are!

Ourtango friends are always asking how we do such a top-notch festival andI just quote the Paul McCartney "I get by with a little help from myfriends"! We dance tango, teach and do festivals all over the place--now we are off to teach in Australia. Everywhere I go I watch, learnand listen and try to create collaborations with new friends.

Thankyou all for being a part of our world. As we head off to Australia weare wishing you all happy holidays and a prosperous New Year!!!

Love & Light
Rusty
